Understanding Notifications in Time To Pet

Learn about the types of notifications users can received through Time To Pet and how to manage settings for notifications

Accessing Staff/User Notification Settings

Notifications Settings can be edited within each user profile by an Admin or Office Manager that have the "Manage Staff" permission. Users/Staff can also be given permission to adjust their own notifications. We share more information on this in our Permissions help article.

To access notification settings for a specific profile, navigate to your company's Staff List:

Then, click on the name of the staff member or user for whom you would like to edit notifications:

Note: If you'd like to be taken to the notification settings right away, you can click the "Edit Settings" link shown to the far right of each listed staff member or user.

Click Edit Settings just below their staff name at the top of their profile:

Click on the Notifications tab:

Note: Notification settings can also be applied to user account in bulk from Settings > Advanced > Bulk Notification Editor.

Client Subscriptions

It is possible to review a list a clients users can receive notifications for. After clicking "Edit Settings" with a specific profile, you can select the "Client Subscriptions" tab, which will show you all of the clients a user/staff member is subscribed to. This list will include all clients a user has been assigned to or made a preferred user for. To unsubscribe from notification from a particular client, simply click the toggle in the "Subscribed" column to off.

Advanced Notification Settings

It is possible to adjust how often your Staff/Users receive Notifications through Time To Pet, as well as the clients they receive notifications for. These options can be configured through your Settings > Advanced > Notifications.

Permissions and Notifications

Time To Pet supports four roles which are Trainee, Staff/User, Office Manager, and Administrator. When reviewing and managing notifications for each user, the options will vary depending on their role.

Time To Pet also supports the ability for Users/Staff to adjust their own notifications. Admins can enable/disable this ability for their Users/Staff from Settings > User/Staff Settings > Permissions We further outline each role and the access settings in the following resource: Staff Roles And Permissions.

Notification Types

User notifications can be further dialed in based on actions or updates made within the software. Additionally, you can control which notifications are delivered by email, web dashboard, or push notification through the mobile app.

The details included with a dashboard or app notification will typically be more concise. Tapping/clicking these notifications will often bring the user the relevant section of the app or dashboard where they can further review the specific updates. List of Notifications

Below is a list of the notifications that are distributed through Time To Pet, along with descriptions of when they are initiated.

Note: Admins/Mangers and other users do not receive notifications for actions they perform themselves in Time To Pet. These notification apply as actions are taken by other admins, managers, users, and clients.

Staff - Admin & Managers with Permissions

User/Staff Member Created - When a user/staff member is created by an admin or manager

Staff Member Details Updated - When details on user/staff profile are updated by an admin

Staff Member Activates Their Account - When a user/staff member completes the activation step for their account

Staff Member Schedules Time Off/Availability (No Approval Needed) - When a user/staff member adds Time Off/Availability

Staff Member Generates Own Pay Stub - When a user creates a pay stub/invoice for their account

Staff Member Is Late To Event - When late reminders are enabled with services, and the criteria is met, a notification will be sent

Staff Member Sends Message To Admins - When a user/staff member sends a message through their Conversation Feed

Staff Member Is Sent Message By Another Admin - when another admin/manager sends a message through user/staff member's Conversation Feed

Happiness Survey Received - when a client has completed a Happiness Survey with a submitted visit report

Client Updates By Staff/Admin - Admins, Managers & Staff/Trainees with Permissions

Client Created - When a client is created by an admin/manager

Client Details Updated - When a client's information is updated from the "Details" tab of the profile by an admin, manager, or other user

Client Made Inactive - When a client is marked as inactive by an admin or manager

Client Reactivated - When a formerly inactive client it reactivated by an admin or manager

Client Pet Added - When an admin, manager, or other user adds a new pet to a client's profile

Client Pet Details Updated - When a client's pet information is updated by an admin, manager, or other user

Client Pet Marked As Inactive - When an admin or manager sets a pet to "Inactive" status

Client Pet Marked Deceased - when an admin or manger sets a pet to "Deceased" status

Client Document Uploaded - when an admin, manager, or other user adds a file to the "Documents" section of the client's profile.

Client Document Deleted - when an admin, manager, or other user removes a file from the "Documents" tab of the client's profile.

Payment Submitted For Client - when an admin or manager processes a payment for a client's account

Client Key Added - when an admin, manager, or other user adds a key to a client's profile

Client Key Updated - when an admin, manager, or another user updates a detail for a key on a client's profile

Message Added To Client Conversation - when an admin, manager, or other user submits a message or Visit Report to the client's Conversation Feed

Private Message Sent To Client - when an admin or manager adds a message to the client's Private Message Feed

Client Updates Their Self Through Portal - Admins, Managers & Staff/Trainees with Permissions

Client Updates Their Own Details - When a client updates their personal details in Time To Pet

Client Adds Pet To Portal - When a client adds a pet to their account

Client Updates Pet In Portal - When a client updates their pet's details in Time To Pet

Client Requests Pet Removal - When a client requests a pet be removed from their account

Client Uploads Vaccination Record - When a client uploads vaccination details

Client Purchases A Package - When a client adds a package to their account

Client Activates Portal Account - When a clients activates their account

Client Adds Credit Card - When a client adds a payment method to their account

Client Deletes Credit Card - When a client removes a payment method from their account

Client Changes Default Credit Card - When a client changes the default payment method on the account

Client Requests Service Order - When a client places a request for services

Client Requests Service Changes - When a client places a request to change or cancel services

Client Submits Payment - When a client submits a payment through their account

Client Creates Own Account - When a client completes and submits the New Client Form

Client Account Approved - When a client's account is approved after a New Client Form submission is reviewed

Client Account Rejected - When a client's account is rejected after a New Client Form submission is reviewed

Client Adds Message To Conversation - When a client sends a message through their Conversation Feed

Client Sends Private Message - When a client send a message through their Private Message Feed

Services & Packages List - Admins & Managers with Permissions

Service Is Created - When an admin creates a new service in the Services List

Service Is Updated - When an admin updates details or settings with a service type in the Services List

Package Is Created - When an admin creates a new Package is Services > Packages

Package Is Updated - When an admin updates details or settings with a Package in Services > Packages

Scheduled Events - Admins & Managers with Permissions

Scheduled Event Is Created - When an admin or manager adds a new event on the Scheduler

Client Requested Event Marked Unavailable - When an admin or manager marks an event from a service request as unavailable

Scheduled Event Is Updated - When an admin or manager changes an event's details such as time, service, status, etc.

Scheduled Event Is Deleted - when an admin or manager deletes an event from the scheduler

Auto/Bulk Approved Template Has Conflicts - When there is a scheduling conflicts on templates that have been automatically approved or approve in bulk

Approvals - Admins & Managers with Permissions

Message To Client Needs Approval - When a message that requires Admin/Manager approval has been submitted by a trainee or user

User/Staff Time Off Request Needs Approval - When a user requests Time Off that requires approval from an Admin

User/Staff Member Deletes Own Time Off - When user/staff deletes Time Off from their schedule

My Notifications - All Roles

I Am Assigned To An Event - When a scheduled event has been assigned to you

I Am Un-Assigned From An Event - When you have been unassigned from a scheduled event

An Event I Am Assigned To Is Updated - When the details of an event you're assigned to (time, service, status, etc.) have been updated

An Event I Am Assigned To Is Deleted - When an event you are assigned to is deleted

My Time Off Is Approved - When your requested Time Off has been approved by an Admin

My Time Off Is Rejected - When your requested Time Off is rejected by an Admin

I Am Late To An Assigned Event - When you are late to an event that uses a service type where late reminders enabled

Admin Sends Me Message - when an admin or manger sends a message through the Conversation Feed on your profile

I'm Part of Service Request Order That Has Been Reviewed - When you have been assigned to an event that was approved from a service request

Other - Admins & Managers with Permissions

Unknown SMS Message Received - When the company using the Texting Integration is sent a text message from a number not registered to a client in their database

Auto Charge Summary - When Automatic Charging has been completed, a summary of the completed transaction is delivered to admins

Daily Schedule Email

The Daily Schedule Email is emailed to user every day at the time you've configured in Settings > Advanced > Notifications and contains a list of all scheduled, cancelled, and completed events that are on the schedule for that day or the next day. This email can only be enabled or disabled by Admins from the Notifications tab of a user's profile (see Accessing User/Staff Notifications)

Admin Schedule Report

Time To Pet offers an admin-specific notification called the Admin Schedule Report, which can be enabled through your Settings > Advanced > Notifications. When enabled, Time To Pet will send all admins a summary of the entire company’s schedule every day. This setting also allows you to configure how many days’ worth of events will be included in the Schedule Report. This is most commonly set to 7 days.

Daily Task Email

When in the Admin or Manager roles, you can have a daily summary email sent out with the open Tasks that are past due or due within the next three days. By default, this is disabled.

To change the Daily Task Email settings:

  1. Navigate to the staff member's profile that you want to enable or disable the Daily Task email and click on the blue "View Settings" and then click on the "Details" tab:

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Details tab and change "Daily Task Email" to "Yes, Each day I have tasks due" or "No, never send daily task email." Then click the "Update Staff" button to save the changes:
